Team Ineos manager Sir Dave Brailsford says he will figure out whether operation was successful.
The 55-year-old, who directs the Team Sky, told the Times.
«There’s guaranteed to be anxiety. It is the fantastic unknown,» he explained.
«I think I am resilient, tough, however in hospital one day I had been overwhelmed, to be honest. It’s easy to think’why’s it happening to me?'»
He added:»I have worked hard on my wellbeing so it’s possible to get bitter, angry, frustrated. I had to learn how to take it. Talking about it among the team proved to be a gigantic assistance.»
Team Ineos riders Egan Bernal won the Tour de France in July to provide the team of Brailsford seven Tour successes from the past eight decades.
Before leaving to focus on Team Sky the former British Cycling performance manager directed Great Britain to eight gold medals at the Beijing Olympics in 2008 and the number in London four decades later.
Brailsford informed the Times:»I work very hard; I bill around. Some may say I am obsessive. I get focused on things that are small and can lose perspective. Now I just wish to enjoy it more.»
