Ben Roethlisberger ‘excited’ about Steelers’ offense

The Pittsburgh Steelers would love to get done answering questions. Ben Roethlisberger, rather, hopes to focus on what the players in the construction bring to the table.
At his youth soccer camp over the weekend, Big Ben said he is excited for the team that currently wears the yellow and black.
«I’m excited, I am excited in what we have,» Roethlisberger told Jeremy Fowler of ESPN. «We put a lot of work in, that’s what it is going to occur, it’s going to have a team effort. We are all going to give everything we have and see where it goes. We can not forecast the future, but we can predict we’re going to give everything we have.»

Gone would be Antonio Brown and Le’Veon Bell, however it’s not like Big Ben is now playing with scrap meat. JuJu Smith-Schuster is a legit No. 1 receiver. James Conner proved to be a workhorse runner. Vance McDonald is a bulldozing tight end and also trustworthy target. Free-agent receiver Donte Moncrief has obtained offseason praise within the construction and could finally assemble consistency to go with physical ability. Ryan Switzer is a slot that seems to have gained Big Ben’s trust. And it would shock no one if one of the Steelers’ other draft picks at receiver morphs to a playmaker, if that is second-year WR James Washington or rookie Diontae Johnson.
Sure, substituting Brown and Bell is simpler said than done, however as long as a Hall of Famer like Roethlisberger is under center, the Steelers’ offense should be fine, even if it’s not as volatile. In the event the defense eventually starts to catch up, Pittsburgh will stay in the playoff hunt.
Besides trusting new, younger players, Big Ben is reveling in the dramatic nature of this 2019 Steelers.
«It has been a little crazy the past couple of years, possibly more than usual that we are used to dealing with,» Roethlisberger said. «To kind of get back to quote unquote normalcy is sort of nice.»
Whether this normalcy becomes a winner with various faces is going to be the question surrounding Pittsburgh until the season starts.
